From Staff Reports

COLMESNEIL – Colmesneil High School senior Kaylee Harris signed her national letter of intent last week to play softball for UT Tyler.

Harris, who pitches for the Lady Dogs, will begin her collegiate softball career as a Patriot in 2024. Colmesneil Athletic Director George Taylor called her a “hard-working, leadership minded ball player” who has made Colmesneil proud.

“I’m excited to say I’m furthering my softball and academic career at UT. I want to thank my parents and coaches who have pushed me to become the player I am today,” she said.

Bulldogs, Lady Dogs to begin basketball

In other news from Bulldog Country, Coach Taylor reported that there was enough of a turnout for basketball that a junior varsity boys’ team was added.

The season on the court begins for the Bulldogs and Lady Dogs on Friday, Nov. 17 with the varsity boys and girls teams heading to Centerville in Trinity County (“Little Centerville”) to take on the Centerville Bulldogs. Tip off for the girls is at 5 p.m.

“Please come out and support these kids as the Running Bulldogs take the court,” Taylor said.
