COLDSPRING — The Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans might have had a strong out of the gate start last Friday night, but they could not go the distance and lost, 28-18 to the Woodville Eagles on the Eagles’ home turf.
The victory marks the second consecutive win where Woodville has taken down a San Jacinto County team, having beaten the Shepherd Pirates the prior week.
The Trojans received the ball first, and it did not take long to score, then later on a return kick the Eagles fumbled, letting the Trojans move to 12-0.
From there, the Eagles dominated, posting four TDs to the Trojans one.
The Eagles netted a total 191 yards with 93 rushing yards and 93 passing yards.
Woodville brings its overall record to 4-3 and 2-1 in district. The Eagles are set to take on the Huntington Red Devils this week at Huntington. The Red Devils are currently winless for the season. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
