The Lady Indians won one and lost three during the weekend tournament in Frankston.

Against Arp on Friday, the team lost 49-47. Kiki Smith was the leading scorer with 15, followed by Laney Peterson with 11 and Stormie Hensley with 9.

Against Tyler Chapel Hill on Friday, Groveton lost 36-17. The team was led by Kiki Smith with 13 and Laney Peterson and Darbi Parker with 2 apiece.

Against Tyler Grace Community on Thursday, the Lady Indians won 29-22. Top scorers were Kiki Smith with 9, followed by Laney Peterson and Stormie Hensley with 4 apiece.

In the opening game against 3A Malakoff, Groveton lost 60-31. Top producers were Kiki Smith with 18 points, followed by Emma Alexander with 5.

Trinity

The Lady Tigers lost to Crockett 43-19 on Dec. 5.

Apple Springs

The Lady Eagles lost to Martinsville 58-8 on Dec. 5.

Boys

Trinity

The Tigers ended up going 3-2 on the week, beating Alpha Omega 52-48 in a hard-fought road game on Dec. 5.

Head Coach Jacoby Mitchell said that clutch shooting and playmaking by Cole Hortman, Ayden Debose, D.C. Cooper and Terian Maxie helped the Tigers pull away with that victory.

Over the weekend, Trinity went 2-2 in the Centerville Holiday Tournament with close losses to Centerville (47-44) and Caldwell (41-51), and two victories over Iola (45-40) and Buffalo (43-35).

Tournament standouts included Chanston Holland, Bryan Crabtree, Cord’e Walker and Ayden Debose, who was named to the all-tournament team.

Groveton

The Indians went 0-2 on the week, falling to Onalaska 74-43 on Dec. 5 and to Wells 53-41 on Thursday.

Apple Springs

The Eagles lost to Spurger 51-34 on Dec. 5.

Top scorers were Dakota Campbell and Ethan Randell, both with 9 points.

During the Alto Tournament, Apple Springs lost to Arp 65-51 on Thursday, but won 75-37 against a JV team on Friday and lost against Hudson JV 51-46.

Then on Saturday, the Eagles downed Zavalla 42-35.

Centerville

The Bulldogs pulled off a 4th quarter, last-minute, come-from-behind 50-49 win over Goodrich on to take home the Consolation title of the Colmesneil tournament. Iain Kendrick and Colton Brasuell both took home all-tournament team honors.

To make it to the consolation bracket, Centerville lost 72-40 to Colmesneil on Thursday and lost 64-17 to Warren on Friday but took revenge on Colmesneil with a 52-51 win.

On Dec. 5, the Bulldogs beat Chester 58-42.
