Centerville teams post four wins

The Centerville Bulldogs posted a 15-4 win over Broaddus, and a 13-0 blanking of Wells during last week’s play.

Braden White collected four hits in four at bats, including an inside-the-park homerun in the fourth inning, a double in the second inning, and singles in the first and third innings, collecting 3 RBIs on the day.

Hardy Brown and Kie Barton had three hits with two RBIs apiece, and Aiden Conner added two more RBIs.

The Bulldogs combined for 12 hits and 13 earned runs. Conner started on the mound, striking out 2 and allowing 4 runs on zero hits. Brice Selman closed the game for the Bulldogs, throwing 3 innings with zero hits, six strikeouts and no runs.

Against Wells, the Bulldogs were led on the mound by Hardy Brown, who had 7 strikeouts and zero runs, in the no-hit win. Hardy Brown also went 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs.

The Bulldogs were patient at the plate, drawing 11 walks.


The Centerville softball team beat Broadus on Nov. 7 by a score of 11-7.

Avery Brown pitched a complete game and had 4 strikeouts. Peyton Noack and Brown led the Lady Dogs at the plate, both going 1-2. Laura Rogers walked 3 times and scored 3 runs.

The Lady Bulldogs are currently 4-3 on the season.

Against Wells, the Lady dogs won 8-4 over the Lady Pirates.

Jaime Whittlesey was 3-3, Peyton Noack was 2-4, and Avery Brown, Mayce Maxfield, Raylee Bogs, Kyleigh Bogs, and Jordan Jones all chipped in with a hit.

Brown pitched a complete game and struck out 6 batters. She had some great defensive plays behind her. The Lady Dogs finished the season at 5-3.
