The Apple Springs Lady Eagles entered the win column in style last week, downing district rival Leggett on both Tuesday and Friday.

Head Coach Michael Powell said they won on Sept. 12 in 5 sets, and then again on Friday in 3 sets.

“We were down 18-14 in the second set, and then Sophie Oldham served 11 in a row to win it for us,” he said.

Groveton

The Lady Indians posted two losses on the week.

On Sept. 12, Normangee won in three — 16-25, 12-25 and 19-25.

Kiki Smith had 8 kills, 1 assist, 19 digs, 1 block; Emma Alexander had 2 kills, 1 dig, 1 block; Landree Martin had 4 digs; Daisia Leonard had 1 kill, 2 blocks; Stormie Hensley had 19 digs; Kady Lee had 1 kill, 3 blocks; Aubrey Alexander had 1 kill, 4 assist, 3 digs; Jannett Bautista had 1 kill, 1 dig, 1 block; Caila Antley had 2 kills, 4 digs; and Paislie Voelker had 2 aces, 10 assist, 2 digs.

On Friday, Groveton fell to Hudson 3-2.

Scores were 25-19, 18-25, 12-25, 25-9 and 12-15.

Trinity

Last week saw the Lady Tigers take two district wins.

Trinity went 3-2 over Shepherd on Sept. 12, and 3-2 over Onalaska on Friday.

Standout players were Mariah Lewis on offense and Vanessa Acosta on defense.
