The Lady Pirates posted a 20-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs in Crockett on Thursday, and the Friday game was just as bad for the Lady Bulldogs as they fell 22-1.

In Thursday’s game, Shepherd started quickly with 8 runs in the first inning, 2 in the second and 10 runs in the third to end the game on the run rule.

Isabelle Hooper took the win home to Shepherd with 9 strikeouts while giving up no hits.

The Lady Pirates posted 17 hits on the night, including 5 doubles. Hooper and Neveah Murphey each had 3 hits to lead the offense.

On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs tried to rebound but just could not match the pace of the Lady Pirates.

Shepherd found themselves behind 1-0 at the end of the first inning, but did not take long to have 6 runs cross the plate, followed by a whopping 16 runs in the second inning to secure the win.

The Lady Pirates had 10 hits, including 2 doubles for the night, with Jayci leading batters with 3 hits.

Wilson had mound duty, and had 3 strikeouts while giving up 2 hits.

Coldspring

The Lady Trojans downed the Lady Wildcats twice last week — 20-4 on Thursday and 18-1 on Friday.

In Thursday’s game, won on the run rule, Coldspring surprised Onalaska with a 15-run first inning to put the game out of reach. While the team combined for only 8 hits, the Onalaska pitcher gave up 13 walks. Jaime Wells posted 4 RBIs, and Izzy Doggett and Trinity Rosales each had 3, with Rosales’ coming from her lone-hit triple.

Wells and Olivia Lee combined for 5 strikeouts while giving up only 2 hits.

In Friday’s game, Coldspring’s opening stanza of 10 runs set the pace again for the win over Onalaska.

Doggett and Krissie Bennett led the offense with 2 hits apiece while most of the team each contributed 1 apiece.

Rosales took the win in the run-shortened game, throwing 5 strikeouts while giving up only 3 hits.
