The Coldspring-Oakhurst Lady Trojans dropped two on the court, starting the week by falling behind the New Waverly Lady Bulldogs 33-25.

It was a slow start for both teams, but Coldspring could not get things going in the right direction. With only 10 points in the first two quarters, the Lady Trojans found it a tough ride and went into the locker rooms down 21-10 at the half.

The tough defense only kept the game under the basket, as neither team had any 3-point shots for the night.

Ella Phillips was the top scorer with 9 points, and Efreauna Bains, Honesti Bradford, Maddy Harden and Shaniyla Goffney combined for 14 additional points to round out the night.

On Friday, the Trojans lost to the Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls 70-32.

Shepherd

New Waverly took home the win against the Lady Pirates on Friday with a score of 49-45.

The last quarter was the deciding factor as the Shepherd Lady Pirates closed the scoring gap, posting 19 points to New Waverly’s 9, but a 6-point third quarter proved to be the downfall.

Kiona King had 2 points for the night while Jaz Richardson had 6 points from the line. Dakiyah Clark had 6 points and Mckayden Nelson had 11 points. Tiana Clark led Shepherd for the night with 17 points.

On Jan. 30, the Lady Pirates lost to the Crockett Lady Bulldogs 57-45.

Jacorrion Jackson had 10 points while Joshua Brimsey had 8 points with two 3-point shots. Luke Monroe had 25 points with five 3-point shots. Bryan Douglas had 15 points for the night.
