Despite splitting last week’s matches — a 3-0 win over Trinity and a 0-3 loss to Tarkington — Coldspring-Oakhurst is looking good to make the playoffs.

Assistant Coach Dwain Anderson said the Lady Trojans are on track to make it to the postseason, something Coldspring volleyball has not done in more than 20 years.

Currently, the Lady Trojans are in third place in the district with a 5-2 (13-8 overall) record.

On Friday, Coldspring lost to Tarkington by scores of 15-25, 16-25 and 20-25.

However, on Tuesday Coldspring beat Trinity by scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-13.

Ella Phillips had 11 kills and 4 aces in the match, and Allie Muirhead had 3 aces, 18 assists and 8 digs.

The Lady Pirates also split their matches last week, falling to Tarkington but downing Crockett.

On Sep. 26, Shepherd lost to the Lady Longhorns 12-25, 12-25 and 6-25.

On Friday, though, Shepherd won in 5 games against the Lady Bulldogs. Scores and stats were not available.
