The Republican Club of Polk County recently recognized James Coogler of Livingston who turned 100 years old in August. An architect who designed several important buildings in Livingston and the Houston area, Coogler is a WWII veteran who fought in Northern Italy. Representatives of Congressman Morgan Luttrell and Senator Ted Cruz both presented Coogler with an American flag that flew over the capitol and citations for his service to Texas and to the United States. State Rep. Trent Ashby was in attendance and informed the club what is going on in Austin.
