PROPOSITION 9 ON BALLOT

Tim Lee, Executive Director of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, recently spoke to the Polk County Retired Teachers Association about Proposition 9 which will be on the ballot this November. If passed, Proposition 9 will allow retired teachers in the state of Texas to receive a cost-of-living adjustment. Lee asked teachers to inform the public that Proposition 9 will NOT increase taxes because the Texas Legislature unanimously set aside the funds needed for the COLA.
