LENOX JR.LENOX JR.A Livingston man was arrested last week and charged with aggravated assault following an alleged road-rage shooting incident.

According to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, deputies with the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling in the Doucette area, just north of Woodville, on the morning of Jan. 30, when they received a call about a shooting incident. According to the information given, two vehicles were traveling eastbound on U.S. 190 near County Road 1075 at a high rate of speed through Woodville.

The deputies were able to get both of the vehicles that were involved stopped on U.S. 190, about five miles from Dam B.

When deputies made contact with 53-year-old Jimmy Dow Lenox Jr., of Livingston, he admitted to firing a single shot from a .45 caliber handgun at the vehicle traveling behind him.

The driver of the other vehicle, who has not been identified, sustained minor injuries from shards of broken glass to his face and hand, according to Weatherford. While investigating the shooting, deputies discovered a single bullet hole in the windshield of the victim’s vehicle, on the driver side, and were able to locate the bullet, which had lodged in a backseat headrest.

The victim refused medical treatment on the scene, according to Weatherford. Lenox was taken into custody and transported to the Tyler County Jail, charged with felony aggravated assault. Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Tina Self set Lenox’s bond at $50,000. Jail records show that he has since bonded out of custody.
