DOUCETTE – A free drive-in style movie screening will take place on Saturday, May 11, at the home of Bill and Brenda Cloyd.

The film God’s Not Dead, which stars Shane Harper, Kevin Sorbo and David A.R. White, is described as a story about a college philosophy professor Jeffrey Radisson, who is portrayed by Sorbo, who makes his students sign a declaration that “God is dead.” One student, Josh Wheaton, portrayed by Harper, refuses to do so and the professor requires him to debate the topic, with other students deciding the winner.

The event will begin at dark, and along with the movie, there will be a bonfire, popcorn and other refreshments, all free of charge. This event will feature nachos and spiral-fried potatoes.

There will be worship music and activities for kids an hour before the show. The event is scheduled rain or shine, and patrons are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, or they can watch from vehicles.

The event is sponsored by Peachtree Community Church, and to get to the Cloyds’ home, drive four miles north of Woodville on US 69, turn left on CR 2770, drive past the second bridge and turn left by a flagpole. From US 287, turn on CR 2770 and go one mile, then turn right by the flagpole. There will be signs posted to follow.
