Students from Colmesneil, Chester and Woodville school districts came to the Tyler County Courthouse on Monday to see how the governing body of Tyler County works. According to County Treasurer Leann Monk, although the students didn’t see the total eclipse that afternoon, Local Government Day was a success, and she wanted to thank everyone who participated. “I think we’re in good hands,” she said. “Remember y’all one day will be in our shoes.”PHOTO COURTESY OF LEANN MONK
