GROVETON — Groveton FFA students competed in the Davy Crockett-Trinity NRCS Forestry and Land Judging contests held recently at Water’s Edge Encampment, winning several awards and sending teams to state.

The forestry team consisting of Tabytha, Megan, Kayleigh and Jarrett placed first, and the team consisting of Reed, Lucas, Malley, and Kutter placed second.

These two teams along with the forestry team consisting of Cooper, Reece, Karly, and Jett, will advance to the state forestry contest held in Nacogdoches on April 18.

Tabytha was the high point individual and scholarship recipient. The land judging team consisting of Ashlyn, McKenna, and Alina placed first. The land team consisting of Landree, Summer, and Carter placed second. The land team consisting of Tanner, Abby, and Brody placed third.

McKenna was the high point individual, and Brody was the recipient of the land judging scholarship.
