Coldspring volleyball goes 2-0 on the week

ONALASKA — The Lady Trojans remain unbeaten in district play and are ranked first after beating Crockett 3-0 on Oct. 1 and Onalaska 3-0 on Friday.

Against Onalaska, the game scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-11.

Ella Phillips had 16 kills along with 3 blocks and Ashlynn Holley had 12 kills and 2 aces. Cali Crowder had 32 assists.

On Oct. 1, Crockett hosted the Lady Trojans, who managed to post 25-8 wins in all three games.

Coach Dwain Anderson said, “We need to learn to play our game and not at the level of the current game.”

The Lady Bulldogs were simply overmatched with high-flying serves and blocks by Coldspring.

Cali Crowder had 5 aces and 35 assists, Ella Phillips posted 20 kills, and Ashlynn Holley had 4 aces and 10 kills.

On Friday, the Lady Pirates went to Hardin-Jefferson and lost in 3 sets — 16-25, 10-25 and 12-25.

Head Coach Ashley Brockner said that although the scoreboard doesn’t show anything but numbers, the Lady Pirates hustled and played hard.

“Our defenders did their best to keep the ball alive,” she said.

Nevaeh Murphy led with 11 defensive digs and 14 serve receptions. Chloe Fuller and Maci Wilson added 7 defensive digs each, and Chloe had 14 serve receptions and Maci had 11.
