Margaret was born on April 25, 1926, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Charles and Mattie (Taylor) Johnson. She graduated from Van Buren High School in Arkansas and in January of 1944 she married Russell Dunn in Van Buren. Margaret was a military wife for 22 years. They lived abroad in Japan, Germany, Fort Knox and wherever his service led them, ultimately returning to Arkansas. They then moved to the Houston area where she continued nursing, and she and Russell both retired in 1986. Upon retirement, they moved to Onalaska, Texas where they remained for almost 40 years. While there, they were very involved in the VFW and were members of the First Baptist Church of Onalaska. In July of 2023, Margaret moved to Canyon to be closer to her son and his family.

Margaret loved quilting, gardening, canning and cooking delicious meals for her family. She also enjoyed playing bridge and adored her cocker spaniels.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Stewart, son, Ralph W. Dunn, granddaughter, Chrissy Facemire, and her five siblings, Verna Vanderpool, Martha Gahagan, Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Titsworth, Wayne E. Johnson and Cora Swaney.
