On Friday, Dec. 30, the Spurger Pirate boys’ varsity team won the championship game against Chester, with a final score of 48-31 in the Chester Tournament.
Cole Simpson led the team with 14 points. Pirates coach Jerry Stapert said, “The boys did really well and we are very proud of the win.”
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, both the Pirates and Lady Pirates will take on Chester on the road, with tip-off at 6 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 p.m. for the boys.
