NoblesNoblesWOODVILLEA Warren man was handed a 50-year prison sentence last week by District Judge Delinda Gibbs-Walker on two felony child pornography charges.

In the State of Texas vs. Jeremy Nobles, Nobles, a 47-year-old Warren resident, was charged with possession with intent to promote, as well as a possession of child porn, charges, a second and third-degree felony, respectively. Tyler County District Attorney Lucas Babin said that “justice was served,” and added that Nobles had refused a plea offer.

“Refusing a plea offer may cost them a lot more at a jury trial. A few years ago, criminals did not feel this pressure,” he said.

Nobles, who was represented by Timothy R. McDonough, was found guilty last Tuesday and handed the sentence. Babin said that promotion of child pornography carries with it a maximum punishment range of 20 years, and in preparing for the trial, he and first assistant DA Pat “Hawk” Hardy made it clear they would seek multiple enhanced sentences.

Nobles was arrested in 2021 when deputies with the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office along with state officials executed a search warrant of his home regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography. According to the Attorney General’s office, the Child Exploitation Unit began the investigation when a CyberTipline report was received, and in the raid on Nobles’s residence, multiple devices were seized for examination by the AG’s Digital Forensics Unit.

Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford said that law enforcement working the case were able to recover evidence “involving an individual uploading and sharing an image of child pornography utilizing a social media application.”

The alert came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which determined the geographic location where the upload had occurred and forwarded the information to the AG’s Internet Crimes Against Children division, which resulted in the search warrant.

“I’d like to thank the Attorney General’s office, Internet Crimes Against Children division. Without their efforts, this would not have been possible,” Babin said.

According to data available from the DPS Sex Offender Registry, Nobles was convicted in 2011 for Indecency with a Child/Sexual Contact, with the victims being a 6-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl.

Nobles remains in custody of Tyler County while awaiting transfer to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility.
