The Lady Jacket volleyball team played all their games on the road this past week. On Tuesday, Oct. 1 the JV squad started off with a sweep against Richards 2-0. The varsity squad then swept Richards in three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-18. Lily Read led kills with 15. Read also had 7 digs, and 9 service receptions. Marae Pounds ended with 11 kills, 6 aces, 7 digs, one assist, and 3 service receptions. Lauren Citrano had 7 kills, 2 aces, 7 digs, and 7 service receptions. Emma Byrd went 11/11 on serves, 5 digs, and 32 assists. Lily Payne had two kills, one ace, one solo block, 3 digs. Sydney Brock led defense with 19 digs, and 24 service receptions. Brock also went 8/8 at the service line.
On Friday, Oct. 4 the Lady Jacket varsity team swept Leggett in three sets with scores of 25-5 each set. Marae Pounds led with 15 kills. Pounds also had three aces and one dig. Josie Pecina had three kills. Lauren Citrano, Ty Cochran, and Lily Payne each had one kill. Citrano also had four aces while Payne ended with three. Kyli Handley had 7 aces. Emma Byrd led aces with 11 going 34/34 on serves, led assists with 20, and had 3 digs. Sydney Brock led defense with 9 digs and 5 service receptions. The Lady Jackets will travel to Goodrich on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and then on Friday, Oct. 11 the Lady Jackets will host Richards at J.P. Johnson Gymnasium with game time scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
The Yellowjacket football team will host Alpha Omega on Friday, Oct. 11 at Aubry Bradley Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
