NACOGDOCHES – Chester artist Danny Clements recently had some of his work displayed in the new Micky Elliot College of Fine Arts at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Clements was the first artist to receive a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from SFASU, and the faculty, being familiar with his work, selected works by him and other artists to be displayed in the new building.

The curator of SFASU’s art exhibits and the Cole Museum of Art director, as well as the art department head, visited Clements in Chester, and initially planned to select one of his works for inclusion in the permanent exhibition, but wound up selecting two pieces.

His painting “Conversations” was selected, and also featured on the cover of the invitation to the reception.
