DIBOLL — The Trinity Lady Tigers lost to Diboll 2-0 on Friday, with midfielder Liliana Uresti receiving a yellow card.

Head Coach Alexis Soto said the team pressed and found its way into the attacking third for most of the game and had multiple breakaways and shots on goal, but was just unlucky and could not find the back of the net.

Kimberli Caceres was player of the game, she said.

Soto said Caceres had a breakthrough game, and was able to get past the Lumberjack defense to create opportunities in front of the goal.

On Jan. 25, the Lady Tigers lost to Hudson 5-1.

Trinity fell to Westwood Panthers on Jan. 21 with a final score of 3-0.

Soto said the Lady Tiger defense was able to hold off the panther attack and prevent them from scoring for 18 minutes.

She said Natalie Bates saved a penalty kick that prevented the Panthers from extending their lead within 5 minutes. At the half, the tigers trailed 2-0.

Alexa Ruiz controlled the tempo of the game in the midfield and was able to continue the forward attack for the tigers. In the second, the Tigers held the Panthers until the last 10 seconds when the Panthers extended their lead to 3-0.

Forwards Resi Green and Vanessa Acosta were a threat up top, but fell short of finding the net.
