GROVETON — District play has been uneven to the Groveton Lady Indians, who lost three games recently.
On Jan. 21, Groveton lost to Centerville 49-31.
Top producers were Anahi Chavez with 14 points and 4 rebounds, Tatum Porter 2 points and 10 rebounds, Ingrid Gonzalez with 7 points, and Kiki Smith with 4 points and 5 rebounds.
On Jan. 19, the Lady Indians down Grapeland 68-38.
Top producers were Porter with 22 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks; Bre McQueen with 13 points, 5 steals and 3 assists, Smith with 13 points and 5 steals, Chavez with 9 points and 2 assists and Isavel Bautista with 3 points, 3 steals and 11 rebounds.
On Jan. 18, Groveton fell to Lovelady 62-19.
Top producer was Porter with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
TRINITY — The Lady Tigers lost to New Waverly 86-41
Shania English has continued to lead the Tigers with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
CENTERVILLE — The Bulldogs’ sole game last week was a disaster, as the team lost to Laneville 92-31.
Head Coach Geoff Hollis said that with two players out, including his starting point guard Ayden Self, the remaining team played terribly.
“Laneville played their best game all year, and the final score ended up 92-31,” he said.
Senior Logan Whittlesey led the way with 18 points, followed by 10 points from Junior Jerry White.
GRAPELAND — The Indians fell to Grapeland 80-41 on Friday.
On Jan. 18, the Indians lost to Lovelady 68-22
TRINITY — The Tigers lost to district rival New Waverly 57-47 on Jan. 21.
On Jan. 18, the Tigers lost to Tarkington 64-43.
