GROVETON — The Groveton Ex-Students Association will host the “big” homecoming on Sept. 27 this year with a tribute to the 1984 state championship Indian football team.
GHS Homecoming 2024 Schedule
Sept. 27
8 a.m. — Meet and Greet, High School (Old Gym); Registration: Chairman Betty Kennedy Whittlesey; refreshments: Debbie Bailey Wilson and Maria Plotts. Cookbooks will be available for purchase.
Noon — Lunch, Elementary Cafeteria or a downtown location of your choice
1 p.m. — Pep Rally, High School Gym
3 p.m. — Biennial Business Meeting-Old Gym
4 p.m. — Class reunions 1960-64, First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall
7:30 p.m. — Groveton Indians vs. Frankston Indians, John W. Reynolds Football Field
Half-time Crowning of our 2024 Homecoming Queen, Band Sweetheart and Beau
After game Street Dance, Downtown
Sept. 28
8:30 a.m. — Parade Lineup at Football Field parking lot, Tim Coker, Chair
9:15 a.m. — Parade entry judging (Cash prizes for first, second and third places)
10 a.m. — Parade Begins; route will be through downtown
11 a.m. — Parade will disburse at the football field via North Kenley Street
2:30 p.m. — Hall of Fame Reception, Old Gym; induction of honorees and announcement of parade winners
5 p.m. — Class reunions 1970-74 at Riata on Main Street
Class reunions can be planned for that weekend; call Kathleen at (936) 642-1473. The Riata on Main has also been reserved as a gathering place.
