TRINITY — The future of African Americans presented the past during the Black History celebration Thursday at Trinity High School.
The event, sponsored by the THS Culture Club of Diversity provided a program of song, dance, food and fun on the night.
Choir members sung “Lift Every Voice,” the Rev. Solomon Debose gave a solo about weathering the storm, and the Trinity Community Mixed Choir, featuring students from every grade level, performed an uplifting song and dance number.
There were prayers from Clifton Harmon, and an uplifting presentation from the Rev. J.L. Butler of Bowen Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Trinity.
Students gave a variety of presentations, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and biographies of influential African Americans.
Ultimately, the presentations lived up to the final reading — unity.
