The town of Trinity is 150 years old this month, and the city is hosting a big celebration Saturday at the Community Center.

The City Council would like to invite you to Founders’ Day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be events, booths, exhibits, games, crafts and live music.

The Trinity Historical Society will have exhibits inside the hall at the Community Center along with other residents whose ancestors played an integral part in this area. This group is responsible for getting historical markers and old cemeteries cleaned up, and graves marked and registered.

There were a lot of different people that were here before the settlers, like the Caddo Indians, and other tribes, and information about the colorful past will be on display, such as the early history of Trinity, the Mounds, the WTB&S Railroad system, the lumber industry and the building of the Trinity Post Office.

A time capsule will be buried at 1 p.m.
