County 4-H members fare well
Members of the county’s several 4-H clubs, after performing well in local events, moved on to the next level, where that success grew.
At the State Fair of Texas, Grace Tullos of the Trinity Area 4-H Club climbed to the top of some very tough competitors to be named the Grand Champion Intermediate Showman.
At the District 5 4-H Gold Star Banquet held recently, Jack Cutter Sullivan of the Groveton 4-H club received the highest achievement award given by the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program through the county 4-H Program, the Gold Star Award.
The Texas 4-H Gold Star Award can only be awarded once in a member’s 4-H career.
Also recognized were volunteers that help make 4-H programs successful. Craig and Amy Smith were honored with the Award of Excellence. These two individuals find it rewarding seeing members grow and become leaders. They co-lead the East County 4-H club and are dedicated to improving the lives of our youth through the various 4-H programs.
