GROVETON — A Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested on Sept. 11 on a drug charge.

Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said in a Facebook post that on Sept. 11, following a joint investigation with the Texas Rangers, arrested Christopher Lima, 40, on a charge of conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wallace said he received a complaint from a resident of Walker County that witnessed something peculiar involving a deputy sheriff, and an investigation was launched. Since it was determined that the deputy was from Trinity County, the Texas Rangers led the investigation, and they came back with a warrant.

“In a I believe about transparency, and I believe that we should operate that way,” Wallace said. “I encourage my officers to hold themselves to a higher standard, and criminal behavior will not be tolerated.”

Wallace said that he thought this officer was doing a great job, but something happened.

“I’m a firm believer that there are no such things as a bad cop, but that there are cops that go bad,” he said.

Lima has been terminated, Wallace said.

Would be nice if Trinity Co.'s own citizen complaints were taken just as seriously. Instead, if they know ya and know ya have a record, might as well just be quiet. They only care if someone who MATTERS actually Sees something illegal/has video proof. Yep, Good job there Woody.

@Charles manson It is the lowest thing they could charge him with and if he can plea and get it dropped one more level he will keep his commission and still be an officer somewhere in the state. A two month investigation according to the pc affidavit and they couldn't catch him with the drugs!!!

@DH My thought exactly. Then this chief stats we will be completely transparent. But no other details will be available due to investigation ongoing.
They will ALWAYS cover for each other

It’s alleged he was tipped him off by (Mr. Transparency) before his residence
    was searched.

@RICHARD PRICE I wish that were true cause it would mean they actually searched his residence but the sad truth is they never bothered to get a warrant because they don't want to find evidence.

I hate seeing this 😒 Chris is a good guy, a dad and a husband. A family man all the way. He is also a human that made a mistake like each and every one of us has done.  Instead of publicly wrecking him Instead say a prayer for him and his family that he gets the help he needs 🙏

The Trinity Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Face Book page routinely posts mugshots of those arrested. Where is this disgraced officer’s  pic. Transparency?
Looks like good ole boys covering for one of their own.

This “former” officer has been a well known scourge on the community.
His nefarious activities have been covered up by D.A. Hon, the Polk Co. Sheriffs dept., the Texas Rangers and the Corrigan police department.
