Joe Biden and the Presidency

The fact that there is still doubt about whether or not Joe Biden was declared the winner of this election shows how consumed with confirmation bias a great swath of the electorate has become. Math, people: numbers are objective. There's no "liberal bias" behind election results.

I'm pretty sure had the election been called for President Trump, there wouldn't be a tenth as much of a brouhaha from Biden supporters as there's been from the Trump True Believers, and not only that, but I'm sure President-Elect Biden would have gracefully conceded, had that been the case.

At the end of the day, though, we need to stop defining one another and our entire existences on whom we voted for and who the president happens to be. One doesn’t know all they need to know about a person, just because you know if they voted for Trump, Biden, or Jorgensen.

If you’re someone who actually believes that you know all you need to know about someone based on who they voted for for president, then I think it says more about you than it does them, and regardless of who you voted for, makes you part of the problem; not the solution.

No matter what happened in the election you can’t do any more than what you did, and today is far too beautiful to allow this to ruin it. Your friends and family are still the same people they were yesterday, and the sun will still rise in the morning.

The fact that there are still people who believe the media declares the president is beyond me.  Yes, it's true the media historically projects the winner, but it most certainly doesn't declare the winner.  There is a difference.  As a matter of fact, The Associated Press "declared" him the winner while votes were still being counted.  If you want to get really technical, he's still not the winner.  Votes are still being counted.  See how that works?

If the election had been called for President Trump, it would be a replay of 2016.  Bet.  Biden supporters including ANTIFA and BLM would continue rioting, looting, burning cities and threatening the lives of those who think differently than they do.  Look around.  Trump supporters are complaining and talking about the "what if's" but they're not burning their cities down.  

Yes, it's true that no matter who is inagurated in January, the world will still go on and the sun will continue to rise.  However, I do believe that while one's choice in presidential candidates doesn't completely define them, it does say a lot about the kind of person they are.  

Recent history has shown both sides of the political aisle struggle to accept results and who is president. If I recall, half the population refused to accept Trump these past four years, and I predict the other half will tune out, refuse to watch the swearing in, etc. for the next four years. 

This is not a one sided problem. It is a divided down the middle problem. Our country is now half and half...like two rival teams or two rival families. 

We may never unring this bell in America.

Doesn't it seem that there is an elite class of people that can participate in the political world, and mere mortals are only spectators?

How does a man who doesn't campaign, hides in the basement and shows obvious signs of problems with acuity pull out a win?

How does a man who is as combative as the president not read the room and end up giving away an election that was his to win?
