Hope McDade was born on December 19, 1937, in Austin, Texas, to Thomas Carrion Sr. and Josephine Lopez. She passed away on September 15, 2024, in Livingston, Texas at the age of 86.

Hope dedicated 25 years of her life as a social worker, touching the lives of many in a profound and lasting way. Her compassion and selflessness were evident in everything she did.

Hope was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of Livingston. She found solace and community in her faith, and her spiritual journey was a cornerstone of her life. Remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, Hope’s legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Contreras and David Contreras; daughter, Josephine Duran; sister, Sarah Del Rio; brother, Johnny Carrion; grandchildren, Monique, Anthony, Chelsey, Christina, Angel Jr., Gabriel, Victoria and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Corban, Ethan, Nancy, Rigo Jr., Andrew, Gabriella, Annette, Madlyn, Angel, Crystal, Matthew, Alyssa, Ashley, Andrianna, Jolene, Layla, Aaliyah, Katlin, Isaiah; great- great grandchildren, Meleah, Jaylah, Elijah and Ezekiel; as well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.

Hope is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack McDade; son, Daniel Contreras, and daughter Rebecca Contreras.
