Coldspring, Shepherd open cross-country seasons

ANDERSON — San Jacinto County’s cross-country teams hit the ground running at the Becker Best meet in Anderson on Wednesday.

The Coldspring Varsity Boys placed 7th out of 16 teams, while the Varsity Girls they placed 8th out of 16 teams.

Lady Trojan Tess Phillips placed 2nd overall for girls, passing a runner on the final uphill stretch to the finish line. Brennen Lilley placed 3rd overall for the boys.

Meanwhile, Shepherd boys placed 8th overall while the girls placed 11th.
