The Lady Trojans’ postseason dreams were ended by the Orangefield Lady Bobcats in the area round of the state softball championships.
On Thursday, Coldspring lost 8-2, and on Friday, the Lady Trojans were blanked 12-0 behind cold bats and a senior-packed opponent.
Even so, Izzy Doggett picked up a 2-run home run in the 4th inning, driving in Trinity Rosales.

The Lady Pirates continue to advance in the state tournament, dropping Diboll in the best-of-three series played in Livingston.
In the first game, Shepherd blanked the Lady Lumberjacks 9-0. Isabelle Hooper got the win on the mound, allowing only 4 hits while striking out 10. Kortlyn Goodson went 4-for-4 at the plate, and Brooklynne McCumber went 2-for-4 with a triple.
The second game ended in a 1-1 tie, so in the third, Shepherd came back for a 9-1 win and a trip to the regionals.
Hooper again got the call and allowed 1 run on 6 hits with 7 strikeouts. All but one Lady Pirate contributed to the offense, with Neveah Murphy going 4-for-4 at the plate, and Kylie Scifres went 3-for-4 with a triple.
Shepherd faces East Bernard on Thursday in Navasota.
