Coldspring takes two from Trinity

COLDSPRING — The Trojans and Lady Trojans hosted Trinity on April 4, posting wins for each team.

The Lady Trojans batted the lineup in the first inning, sending 10 players to the plate and scoring 5 runs and on only 2 hits. 

The second inning produced 4 more runs on only 1 hit; Trinity Rosales, Izzy Doggett, Haylee Rosales and Hanna Bailey all scored twice in the first two innings. The scoring continued until the game was called on runs, giving a win a 15-0 win to the Lady Trojans. 

Ashney Minor, starting pitcher for the Lady Trojans, managed to post 5 strikeouts during the first two innings and continued to dominate the Lady Tigers throughout the night. 

Shepherd

The Lady Pirates were edged out by Anderson-Shiro 5-4 on April 4, placing the Shepherd and Coldspring tied for first place in the district.

COLDSPRING — The Trojans outclassed Trinity 16-2 on April 4 behind hot bats and hotter pitching.

During the first inning the Trojans saw 13 players at bat, scoring 8 runs on 7 hits and stranding 2. 

Nolan Beaver posted a banner night on the mound, striking out 3 of 4 the first inning and posting 6 strikeouts in the first two innings. 

Luke Monroe had 4 steals during the first two innings alone, and the Trojans had 7 stolen bases for the night. 

Shepherd

The Shepherd Pirates downed Anderson-Shiro 4-2 on April 4.
