CLEVELAND — The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting deaths of two county residents.

Sheriff Greg Capers said that the shootings look to be a murder/suicide. Names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

According to Capers, the shootings occurred at about 6:25 p.m. Friday in the 3300 block of Fostoria Tram Road in County Precinct 3, east of Cleveland.

The preliminary investigation shows 59-year-old male reportedly shot and killed his 81-year-old mother, then took his own life, Capers said.

As of 9 p.m. Friday, law enforcement officials were still on the scene conducting the investigation.
