POINT BLANK — With a new council member on board, the Point Blank City Council discussed where it has been regarding road repairs, and where it will move to next.
At its regular meeting on Nov. 14, Mayor Mark Wood told the council that the city so far has spent about $14,000 on other city roads, and the next big project will be in the North Woods Subdivision.
Additionally, the council approved an ordinance regarding the use of city streets. Wood said there was some dredging work being done around the shore of the lake which had led to trucks causing damage to the roads.
In other business, the council:
•swore in Mike Pagels as alderman to serve the remaining term of Joe Hickinbotham;
•discussed the short-term rental ordinance, and that there are only five properties remaining to be registered;
•approved hiring GrantWorks to administer a $500,000 grant for a $36,500 fee; and
•accepted a piece of property dedicated from San Jacinto County.
