TailgateParty

From Enterprise Staff

Livingston High School’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department is hosting a Community Tailgate event with food trucks, games and vendors from 4-6 p.m. Friday in the back parking lot of Livingston High School at 400 FM 350 South. Parking will be available in the front of the school in the student parking lot.

Some of the food vendors slated to be there include: Shelby’s Rookie Cookies, Bizzy Beez, Chelsea Snacks, Big Sippin Cookers, Long Branch Steakhouse, Myli’s Sweat Ice, Providence Pantry Freeze Dried Foods, PopLife Popcorn, Jamies Crazy Treats and Bullet Grill House.

Item vendors expected to be there include: Buckles & Spurs, Sweet Tees, The Suds Factory, Jesus Freak and Beaver Lodge Walking Sticks.

Informational booths will be provided by: Bradford at Brookside, Community Title, City of Livingston, Kindred Hospice, Harbor Hospice, DayNight Medical Supplies, FFA & 4H Buyers Committee, Lincare and Dedicated Orthopedics.

CTE student booths that will be there include: FCCLA, FFA, Yearbook, AV/Production and Health Science.

There is no cost to enter the tailgate event although the individual vendors will be collecting money for their items.

The event is the brainchild of Livingston High School student Donnie Gokey who is serving as the coordinator of the event. Hoping to pursue sports management in college, Gokey is using this event for his FCCLA competition project which is event management. He said he would like to see this community tailgate become an annual event.

“We want to have as many community members as possible come to the event to show off all of the awesome things our CTE department is doing. I also want to help gain more community support for our Livingston Lions football team,” Gokey said, adding that the tailgate event is meant to encourage the attendees to head to the football stadium afterward. Livingston will face Lumberton at Lion Stadium in the final game of the season.
