Cato Fashions joined other local sustaining sponsors of R.E.A.D. (Reading Encourages Advanced Development) recently when the local store presented a donation to board members of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library affiliate in Polk County to support the literacy program for the local pre-school population. Visit the website www.READPolkCounty.com to view the local merchants that have contributed to R.E.A.D., now in its seventh year. Books are being mailed to local 1,741 children this month. Literacy, the organization’s goal, is presented in compelling, colorful, age-appropriate books that have resulted in many reading before kindergarten. Donations may be made on the website or by contacting Judy Blain at 979-661-1406 or George Huson at 713-828-3492. A global survey is being sponsored by Australia and can be accessed at Imaginationlibrary.com. If you have a child in the program or that graduated from the program please participate in the survey.
