Constable items on agenda

The constable warrant service program quarterly report for the period ending March 31 will be received by the Polk County Commissioners Court during its regular meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Court will discuss and consider the addition of four reserve deputy constable positions in Precinct 2 based on the constable’s increased performance of statutorily required duties.

A proposed agreement with Human Resources Director Adrena Gilbert for human resources consulting/training services will be considered for approval.

The Court will consider approval of an agreement with Langford Community Management Services for administration and professional services relating to the hazard mitigation grant program, as well as authorization for the county judge to negotiate the cost of project scope if funding is awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Action regarding the IAH Public Facility Corporation board of directors will be considered.

The Court is expected to discuss and consider action on an interlocal agreement between Polk County and The Texas Department of Public Safety for a permanent commercial driver license facility in the county.

The Court will also discuss and consider a request from Republic Services to initiate an exact change policy at the citizen collection stations effective May 16.

Action regarding the current topographic requirements in the Polk County Subdivision Regulations and alternative options will be discussed and considered.

Commissioners will consider approval, approval upon conditions met, or rejection of subdivision applications for Lagoon Ranch RV Park and Hunter’s Ridge Subdivision, both located in Precinct 2, and Caney Pines Subdivision, located in precinct 3.

They will also discuss and consider a request for variances from the Polk County Subdivision Regulations for Falcone Forest IV Subdivision located in Precinct 4, as follows: waive five-foot interval requirement on topographic map and increase limit of single-family dwellings per lot to two for lots that are five acres or greater.

A request for a capital purchase to be paid from the general fund balance and included on the FY2022 reimbursement resolution for the year-end issuance of legally authorized debt will be considered, for the human resources department to purchase a desktop printer, not to exceed $329.

The Court will review and consider personnel action form requests submitted since the last meeting and will review any authorized emergency hirings. They will also consider the FY2022 budget revisions and amendments, as presented by the county auditor’s office.

During informational reports the Court will receive the yearly audit and will also observe proclamations declaring April 11-17 to be Public Safety Telecommunications Week, declaring April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Items on the consent agenda include:

Approve minutes of the March 22 regular meeting;

Approve schedules of bills;

Approve order designating surplus property;

Receive and record continuing education certifications/transcripts of elected officials, as submitted;

Approve filing a claim with the state comptroller, pursuant to government code, Sec. 61.0015(B), for reimbursement of a portion of the juror fees paid by Polk County during the period of January 1 through March 31;

Accept grant award (4366401) from the Office of the Governor for the purchase of body worn cameras and authorize the county match of $10,750 to be paid from the sheriff’s asset forfeiture funds;

Approve resolution for the sheriff’s office to apply to the Texas Department of Transportation’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Grant Program, Operation Slow;

Approve updates to master street address guide;

Receive and record District Judge Travis Kitchens’ order of appointment for 258th Judicial District court coordinator; and

Approve the renewal of work-based-learning agreements between Workforce Solutions and the Polk County Maintenance Department and the Polk County Aging Department.
