From Enterprise Staff

The National Weather Service Houston/Galveston Office will be promoting severe weather safety and preparedness Monday through Friday, with each day having a different theme. Information will be shared on its website and social media.

Heat safety will be discussed on Monday. Thunderstorm safety – including lightning, hail and wind – will be discussed on Tuesday.

Tornado safety will be discussed on Wednesday and a tornado drill will occur in conjunction with it. A mock/test tornado warning will be sent out over NOAA Weather Radio and over Twitter at 10 a.m. Wednesday. This warning can serve as the starting point for a drill in your school, home or business. Everyone is encouraged to practice what they would do in the event of an actual warning. The warning will go out as a test, not using the actual tornado warning code.

The week will wrap up with flash flood safety being discussed on Thursday and beach/rip current safety being discussed on Friday.
