Goodrich man arrested for sexual assault of child

Lionel OrozcoA Goodrich man is now in jail after his arrest last week for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

In December of 2022, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to the sexual abuse of a child.  According to the PCSO, detectives immediately initiated an investigation into the allegations and were able to identify four children who were found to be victims of the sexual abuse.

Detectives spoke with the alleged offender in this case and identified him as Lionel Orozco, 72, of Goodrich. While interviewing Orozco, he confessed to sexually abusing the four young victims.    

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives then obtained felony arrest warrants on Orozco, for two counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child, and two counts of second-degree felony indecency with a child with sexual contact.

Last week, Orozco was arrested by detectives on his outstanding warrants. He was then booked into the Polk County Jail, where he remains at this time, with bonds totaling $350,000, set by Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Judge Robert Johnson.
