Livingston Man charged with sexual assault

Jerry WhittenburgA Livingston man has been arrested, charged with sexual assault of a child.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has released information on an arrest from November, when they received information of an incident involving the sexual assault of a child.

Law enforcement immediately initiated an investigation and identified the suspect as Jerry Lee Whittenburg, 51, of Livingston.  

During the investigation, detectives subsequently obtained sufficient probable cause for an arrest warrant to be issued on Whittenburg for the second-degree felony of sexual assault of a child. 

Last week, Whittenburg turned himself in to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, where he was booked into the Polk County Jail, on a $50,000 bond.
