Kara was born February 25, 1963 in Livingston, Texas and passed away August 15, 2024 in Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Abbey and Irene (Celestine) Abbey; and husband, Darrell Battise; son, Jeremy Battise; daughter, Selena Rayale Battise; and brothers, Ronnie Abbey, Aron Abbey and Lloyd Abbey.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Battise and Gabriel Bullock, Kierston Battise and David, Kaytlinn Kowena and Michael, Selena Battise and Caleb Wilson, all of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Williams and Shannon of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, B.T.
