He was born July 25, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas, son of William David Walton and Ruth Althea (Williams) Walton. Billy graduated from Deweyville High School in 1965 where he was quite the basketball star. Following graduation, he married his sweetheart, Doris Boulware, settling in the Buna area and eventually following his parents to their new hometown of Livingston, Texas. They celebrated 58 years of marriage in June. His hobbies were his family, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member and a deacon at Blanchard Baptist Church for many years.

He was proceeded in death by his dad, William “Bill” Walton, his sister, Cynthia Louise Walton and great-great grandson, Lux Godkin. Surviving in addition to his beloved wife Doris, and mom Ruth, are children Elaine and husband Rodney Rogers, Billy Wayne “Bubba” Walton Jr., and Janie and husband Chuck Sparks, his brother-in-law, Bobby L. Smith, niece Angela and husband James Welch. He also left behind 11 grandchi ldren, Corey, Candace, Matraca, Shoney, Summer, Randi, John, Brandi, Megan, Jordin and Harley, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many other friends and family.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday July 22, 2024, at Blanchard Baptist Church with Brother Fred Alford officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Suddeth Bluff Cemetery, Billy Wayne Walton Sr.
