On June 29, 2024, God called JR home. He was born February 8, 1979 in Lufkin, Texas. JR was preceded in death by his sister Ashley Baldwin of Colmesneil, his grandmother, Marie Harris, of Lufkin, and his aunt, Frankie Weatherly, also of Lufkin.

JR is survived by his wife Leeann Wood, of Hemphill, his children, Victoria, Brandon, Jakob, Jaden, Triston, Gracie, Bentley, and Remington. He is also survived by parents, James and Gloria Wood of Colmesneil, mother, Donna Craig of Houston, sister and brother-in-law Darla and Heath Martinez of Deweyville, sister and Brother-in-law Dana and Rodney Edgemond of Oakwood, sister, Elizabeth Dyer of Houston, and God Father Luther Rains of Huntington.

He loved fishing and motorcycle riding, but most of all, he loved his family. 130
