Alan will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery, at 10AM, on Monday, July 29, 2024 with Military Honors.

Alan was born on June 8, 1951, in Burnet, Texas, to Ernest and Noncie Barton. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. Alan married Rebecca Barnes on December 10, 1981 and together had two children, Amanda and Cody. He enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Alan cherished time spent with his family – particularly his grandchildren.

Alan is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his children, Amanda and husband Cliff Terrel and Cody and wife Sammy Barton; his grandchildren, Lillian Terrel, Elise Terrel, and Jillian Barton; his mother, Noncie Ashworth; and by his sister, Kathi Hensarling.

Alan was preceded in death by his father. 167
