William Glen Hearren

Reverend William Glen Hearren passed away on September 9, 2024.

Glen, an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was born on July 26, 1947, in Livingston, Texas to Louis E. and Daisy R. Hearren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Louis Edward Hearren, George Grace, and J.B. Grace, his sisters, Patsy Hearren Wilburn and Jaqualine Grace, and great-granddaughter Aubree Faith Bynum.

Beginning in first grade, Glen attended Livingston public schools and graduated from Livingston High School in 1966.

After completing high school, Glen served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, including a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam, where he served in Cam Rahn Bay as an army medic.

Subsequent to his return home to Polk County, he met Nikki S. Walding, whom he married on July 18, 1969. Glen and Nikki spent 55 years happily married.

A surveyor by trade, Glen began his career as a rodman but soon had worked his way to the position of party chief. He worked in and around East Texas in land surveying and other projects, including work on Lake Livingston Dam during its construction. In the 1990s he transitioned into surveying pipeline projects throughout Texas and Louisiana for S. Oliver & Associates before starting his own company as an independent contractor.

In 1978, Glen became a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God and was ordained in 1985. During his ministry, Glen started a number of new church plants, including First Assembly of God in Onalaska, Texas. At the time of his passing, he attended Beech Creek Assembly of God.

Glen is survived by his wife Nikki S. Walding Hearren, his two sons, Kirk Hearren (Crystal) and Paul Hearren, and daughter, Jody Hearren Holzaepfel (Ryan); his six grandchildren: Grant Holzaepfel, Johnathen Bynum (Claire), Jared Bynum William Glen Hearren

Funeral services held Saturday

(Sabra), Alexis Bynum, Olivia Hearren and Willow Hearren; and great-grandson Cooper Bynum. He will be greatly missed by a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers: Louis Hearren Jr., Rodney Hearren, Ronnie Hearren, D.W. Mayfield, Ronney Turner, Wayne Harvey.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Gene Summers, Rodger Goins, Dennis Land and Don Goodwin officiating. Interment followed at the Bluff Creek Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Visitation was held Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
