Sherry Lynn Wheeler Funeral services Saturday

Funeral services for Sherry Lynn Wheeler, 77, of Livingston, Texas will be held on September 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Billy Bracken officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held on the day of service, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Sherry was born November 24, 1946 in Houston, Texas and passed away August 30, 2024 in Tyler, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Randolph and LaVerne (Roberts) Randolph and brother, Johnny Randolph.

Sherry was a Goodrich High School graduate and a member of the Magnolia Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Victory Singers and if you knew her well, you knew she always wanted to be in charge and tell people what to do, which made her an effective leader of the group. They enjoyed ministering through music, singing weekly at various nursing homes and enjoying lunch together. Eager to serve those in need, Nana expressed her love for others with meals, gifts and frequent texts/phone calls. During her lifetime, she sold real estate and was often called “The Wheeler Dealer,” as she could sell a freezer to an Eskimo. She was the top seller in the nation three years in a row for House of Lloyd Toys. She was also owner/operator of two locations of Sherry’s Shirt Shop.

Of all of her roles and accomplishments, it was answering to the name of Nana that gave her the most joy. You would never see her anything less than all put together ... adorned with her jewelry, nails professionally polished, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and naturally curly hair properly put in place. She made it an aim to train her granddaughters to follow suit, so they would be sure to be well manicured when going to visit. No one ever went hungry at Nana’s house, where you would be served full plates, then seconds, and then thirds … whether hungry or not.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Charles Wheeler of Livingston, Texas; son, Duke Wheeler and wife Kim of Goodrich, Texas; daughter, Angela Witte and husband Tom of Palestine, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Wheeler and wife Caitlin, Kandace Gaspard and husband Cody, Derek Hulsey and wife Kadi, Megan Gauthier and husband Corey, Lynlee King, Bethanie Andrews and husband Travis, Brooke Witte, and Lexie Nye and husband Alex; great grandchildren, Cooper, Daxyn, Hudson, Cora, Charlie Faye, Hunter, Townes, Axel, Wyatt and Franklin; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Justin Wheeler, Derek Hulsey, Cody Gaspard, Corey Gauthier, Travis Andrews and Alex Nye. Honorary Pallbearers: Randy Randolph, Billy Lambeth, Bobby Henderson, Kelton Taylor, Forrest Bracken, Red Allen and Bowen Cain.
