Dalton Eugene Zeigler Celebration of life Saturday

Dalton Eugene Zeigler, 56, of Twin Falls, Idaho entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 21, 2024.

Born September 6, 1967, to Edward and Syble Zeigler, Dalton lived a meaningful life full of adventure and service to others. Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dalton enjoyed waterskiing, sports, and had a passion for dirt bikes. Following in his father’s footsteps, Dalton proudly served his country as a U.S. Naval Petty Officer First Class where he trained to be an Electrician’s Mate - Nuclear, taught at the Naval Nuclear Academy, and served as a nuclear reactor operator on the USS Providence.

After achieving his Chemical Engineering degree from Texas A&M, Dalton worked in Energy Sustainability, Pharmaceutical, Aircraft, Gas & Oil and Food industries. With his recent retirement, Dalton focused his talents on both functional and artistic welding.

D alton’s adventurous side enjoyed both dirt and street motorcycling, long range rifle marksmanship competitions, and sleeping under the stars. As a private pilot, Dalton enjoyed time spent flying, working on his plane, and yes, sitting out back on the patio “porch flying” with the Swainsons hawks during their regular visits in the sky above. The quieter side of Dalton enjoyed welding, designing and creating things for others, spending time with friends and family, cooking (especially on his Big Green Egg) and engaging in lifelong learning. He is remembered for being an amazing teacher and mentor who found no greater joy than helping others. He had an infectious laugh, a guilty “I didn’t do it” grin, and an ability to debate any topic! Oh, and don’t forget his love for his mother’s banana pudding!

Dalton was a dedicated husband and partner to his wife Julie and provided for every possible need or want imaginable. He was a fierce protector of his family while simultaneously infusing laughter, joy and adventure into daily life. In 2018, Dalton and Julie moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where they established their forever home and started planning for retirement.

Dalton touched and inspired many throughout his lifetime leaving his own beautiful mark on this world. His memory will be cherished by many, and he will be deeply missed.

Dalton is survived by his wife, Julie Zeigler; parents, Edward and Syble Zeigler; sister, Shelly Zeigler; stepson, Andrew (Karina) Jenke; stepdaughter, Kayleen (Payton) Whitaker; granddaughters, Kendal, Emma and Tessa; brother-in-law Gary (Jeanette) Miller; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew and friends; and the true love of his life, his 4-year-old Labrador, Bella.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 1-3:30 p.m., at the Livingston VFW: 4951 US-190 W. Livingston, Texas 77351.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Fisher House Foundation (Fisherhouse.org) serving veterans, service members and their families.
