HUNTSVILLE — “Superintendent Dr. John Kaufman and members of the Trinity ISD Board of Trustees, as principal of Trinity High School, I hereby declare that these students have met all state and local requirements for graduation.”

Brittaney Cassidy sent the 80 graduates of Trinity High School on their way to the future with her words during the graduation ceremony on Saturday at Sam Houston State University.

To make that journey, Salutatorian Zoey Gray said that all of the teachers, coaches and parents in the lives of the students have given them the moral compass needed to move on in our lives.

“We have put so much time, work and effort into getting to this point in our lives,” she said. “Education is not preparation for life, but life itself.”

Gray also encouraged the class to live life as it’s happening, not as it has happened.

“I pray that all of you get to live the life you’ve worked so hard for, and never regress,” she said.

Valedictorian Andrea Hickman said the journey and opportunities they create for themselves after school are what matter most.

“If there is one thing we can agree on, high school was one heck of a ride, so I commend everyone for sticking it through and making it to the final destination,” she said. “Tomorrow, we’ll be challenged on a different scale.

“Many will say make a difference in the world, but my advice is to not lose yourself on the way,” Hickman said. “Make a difference in your life, too.”
