GROVETON — Recently, the Groveton Lions Club was host to the District 2S-1 SPOT Vision Team, consisting of volunteers from Lufkin, Jasper, Orange Beaumont and Port Arthur Lions clubs.

Together the teams provided free eye screening for adults without any eye insurance. There were 12 visitors to the clinic, which was held in the Groveton Senior Citizens Center, and the group was able to send 10 very happy folks out the door with new glasses at no charge.

The SPOT Pediavision Program also does grade school eye testing here in Groveton ISD and surrounding communities free of charge. In case of a need the club will refer a student to the proper treatment.

The Groveton Lions Club is made up of concerned and dedicated people who strive together to help make Groveton a better place to live, work and play. We are always looking for new members and welcome visitors to our meetings held the first and third Thursdays at noon in the Senior Citizens Center. We hope to hear you roar.
