COLDSPRING — Coldspring-Oakhurst managed to keep it close with New Waverly until the second half of the game, and then New Waverly opened up to end up downing the Trojans 73-53 on Friday.

The Trojans now stand at 2-2 in district (19-8 overall).

Top scorers were Luke Monroe with 27 points, and Cam Shaw-Rucker and T.C. Chambers each contributed 6 points.

On Jan. 11, Coldspring-Oakhurst lost to Tarkington 72-58.

Top scorers were Shaw-Rucker with 17 and Monroe with 16.

Shepherd

SHEPHERD — The Pirates gave up two games to district rivals in recent play.

On Jan. 14, Shepherd lost to the Liberty Panthers 69-44.

On Jan. 11, the Pirates fell to the Livingston Lions 58-32.

Top scorers were Tristen Cullum with 15 and Jesse Valerie with 13.

Coldspring-Oakhurst

COLDSPRING — The Lady Trojans got the first points of the game but then fell behind and never controlled the court, losing to New Waverly 72-42 on Friday.

Top scorers for the Lady Trojans were Ella Phillips with 15 points, A’lyvia Jackson with 12 points and Brianna Shaw-Rucker with 10 points.

On Jan. 11, the Lady Trojans downed Tarkington 60-55.

Top scorers for the Lady Trojans were Jackson with 22 points and Phillips with 10.

Shepherd

SHEPHERD — The Shepherd Lady Pirates lost to the Livingston Lions 45-40 on Friday.
